Onward…with a New Sense of Purpose!

The month of November brought in new perspectives and renewed vision. Pastor Binu C. P. assumed the position of Vice Principal of OTI this month. The female students got yet another opportunity to engage in ministry among children and women in a village in Mallapally near Tiruvalla. All our trainees attended a child evangelism workshop led by Timothy Institute. The academic department organized a seminar on ‘Practical and Systematic Study Methods’. They also received enlightening sessions on ‘How to communicate the Gospel to Muslims’. Both the topics were handled by Dr. Stanley Jackson who ministers among Muslims in Perambalur in Tamil Nadu. We are blessed by the ministry of Brother Sajan Joy who is serving among the Devdasis (temple dancers) in Karnataka, during the missionary chapel hour. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.

PETITION

The 35th Graduation Service to be held on February 24, 2018 and the graduating students who are preparing themselves to move into their assigned mission fields.

The faculty and staff of OTI, that they may continue to serve the student community through word and deed.

He serves among Devadasis (temple dancers) in Karnataka.

A team of students under the leadership of a Staff member regularly ministers at an orphanage called Daya Vihar, a home for destitute children, (mostly children of street beggars) on all Sundays. We have been in partnership with Daya Vihar in the ministry of teaching and equipping the children for the last two years. The kids hail from Kerala and Tamil Nadu. They have not received any spiritual or moral teaching in their early childhood. We assist the organization by giving character formation and Sunday school sessions for the kids. There are fourteen children who are very excited to learn new songs and stories and participate in games. Above all, the friendship and acceptance they receive from our student team is what they really enjoy and cherish. Our students are also much enthusiastic to teach as well as encourage them. The team spends time to prepare theme based lessons and fun activities before engaging in ministry. The songs, games, Bible based quizzes as well as moral teaching are based on a particular theme. This opportunity provides huge motivation for our students as they prepare themselves for evangelistic ministry. We receive encouraging reports that this ministry has deep impact on the children, in term of moulding them to look to the future with renewed hope in the Lord Jesus to take care of their needs.
